বৃহস্পতিবার (২ অক্টোবর) বিকেলে রাজধানীর তেজগাঁওয়ের ইমপালস হাসপাতাল মিলনায়তনে ইনডেক্স গ্রুপ আয়োজিত আলহাজ আহেদ আলী বিশ্বাস মানবকল্যাণ ট্রাস্ট (এবি ট্রাস্ট) কৌশলগত সম্প্রসারণ প্রস্তাব” শীর্ষক সেমিনারে তিনি এ আহ্বান জানান।
শিমুল বিশ্বাস বলেন, “উন্নত বাংলাদেশ গঠনের লক্ষ্যে রাষ্ট্র ও সরকারের অনুপ্রেরণায় বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি সংগঠন ইতোমধ্যে কাজ করছে। শহীদ রাষ্ট্রপতি জিয়াউর রহমানের সময় থেকেই এসব সংগঠন প্রত্যক্ষ সহযোগিতা পেয়ে এসেছে। তাই সমন্বিত প্রয়াসের মাধ্যমেই দেশ এগিয়ে যাবে।
তিনি অভিযোগ করে বলেন, “আওয়ামী লীগ শুধু বিরোধীদল নয়, বিভিন্ন সামাজিক সংগঠন ও এনজিওকেও দলীয়করণ করেছে। ফলে জনগণ এসব উদ্যোগ থেকে কাঙ্ক্ষিত সুফল পায়নি। এখন সময় এসেছে জনকল্যাণমুখী সব কর্মকাণ্ডকে রাষ্ট্র ও সমাজের প্রয়োজনে উৎসাহিত করার।
সেমিনারে বিশেষ আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের ব্যক্তিগত সচিব এবিএম আব্দুস সাত্তার। বিশ্লেষণমূলক বক্তব্য রাখেন মনির হোসেন।
