অনুষ্ঠানে পৌঁছালে প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে স্বাগত জানান তাঁর প্রতিরক্ষা উপদেষ্টা ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অব.) ড. এ কে এম শামছুল ইসলাম এবং বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী, নৌবাহিনী ও বিমানবাহিনীর প্রধানগণসহ সশস্ত্র বাহিনী বিভাগের প্রিন্সিপাল স্টাফ অফিসার।
দরবারে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, দেশের সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতকরণ, আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমণ্ডলে বাংলাদেশের ভাবমূর্তি উজ্জ্বল করতে সশস্ত্র বাহিনী গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে আসছে। বিশেষ করে ২০২৪ সালের আগস্ট পরবর্তী সময় থেকে ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন সুষ্ঠু ও শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে সম্পন্ন করতে বাহিনীর পেশাদারিত্ব ও নিষ্ঠা প্রশংসনীয়।
তিনি আরও বলেন, বর্তমান সরকার সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর আধুনিকায়ন, সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি এবং জাতীয় উন্নয়নে তাদের কার্যকর অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করতে সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতা অব্যাহত রাখবে।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর সদস্যদের উদ্দেশ্যে দল-মতের ঊর্ধ্বে থেকে দেশের সার্বভৌমত্ব ও সংবিধানের মর্যাদা রক্ষায় প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ থাকার আহ্বান জানান। একই সঙ্গে জনগণের আস্থা অটুট রাখা এবং সততা, শপথ ও ত্যাগের মাধ্যমে দেশপ্রেমের অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপনের নির্দেশনা দেন।
