আগামী ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিতব্য ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ধানের শীষ প্রতীকে ভোট দিয়ে স্বৈরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে শক্ত জবাব দেওয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান।
শনিবার (৩১ জানুয়ারি) বিকেলে সিরাজগঞ্জের বিসিক শিল্প পার্ক মাঠে আয়োজিত এক বিশাল নির্বাচনী জনসভায় তিনি এ আহ্বান জানান। কোরআন তেলাওয়াতের মাধ্যমে বেলা ৩টায় সমাবেশ শুরু হয়। বগুড়া থেকে সড়কপথে বিকেল সাড়ে তিনটায় সিরাজগঞ্জে পৌঁছান তারেক রহমান।
সমাবেশে বক্তৃতাকালে তিনি বলেন, “গত ১৬–১৭ বছর ধরে যারা অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করেছেন, তারা মানুষের অধিকার রক্ষার জন্যই লড়েছেন। সেই অধিকার ফিরিয়ে আনতে হলে ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি ধানের শীষে ভোট দিয়ে স্বৈরাচারকে জবাব দিতে হবে।”
তিনি আরও বলেন, “বিএনপি সব ধর্ম-বর্ণের মানুষের দল। আমাদের কাছে সবচেয়ে বড় পরিচয়—তিনি বাংলাদেশের নাগরিক। আমরা মানুষের মর্যাদা প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে চাই। জনগণের সরকার প্রতিষ্ঠা হলেই দেশের প্রকৃত সমস্যা সমাধান সম্ভব।”
দেশ গড়ার আহ্বান ও উন্নয়ন প্রতিশ্রুতি
তারেক রহমান বলেন, “স্বৈরাচারের পতনের পর এখন সময় দেশ গড়ার। সবাইকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে কাজ করতে হবে।” তিনি সিরাজগঞ্জ ও পাবনাসহ উত্তরাঞ্চলে নতুন শিল্প পার্ক স্থাপন, বেকারত্ব নিরসন, কৃষিভিত্তিক শিল্প সম্প্রসারণ, তাঁতশিল্প পুনরুজ্জীবন এবং আন্তর্জাতিক বাজার তৈরির প্রতিশ্রুতি দেন। পাশাপাশি ভোকেশনাল ইনস্টিটিউট স্থাপনের কথাও জানান।
তিনি আরও ঘোষণা দেন যে বিএনপি ক্ষমতায় গেলে নারী ও কৃষকদের সহায়তায় ফ্যামিলি কার্ড ও কৃষি কার্ড চালু করা হবে।

উত্তরাঞ্চলে প্রচারাভিযান শেষ
দুই দিনের প্রচারাভিযানে তারেক রহমান রাজশাহী, নওগাঁ, বগুড়া ও রংপুরে চারটি সমাবেশ করেন। সিরাজগঞ্জের সমাবেশের মাধ্যমে উত্তরাঞ্চলের কর্মসূচি শেষ করে তিনি টাঙ্গাইলের উদ্দেশে রওনা হন।
সমাবেশে সভাপতিত্ব করেন জেলা বিএনপি সভাপতি রুমানা মাহমুদ এবং সঞ্চালনা করেন সাধারণ সম্পাদক সাইদুর রহমান বাচ্চু। আরও বক্তব্য দেন দলের স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য ইকবাল হাসান মাহমুদ টুকু, কেন্দ্রীয় সহ-সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক ওবায়দুর রহমান চন্দ ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবক দলের সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক নাজমুল হাসানসহ স্থানীয় নেতৃবৃন্দ।
