সিরাজগঞ্জের প্রত্যন্ত ও দুর্গম চরাঞ্চলের মানুষের স্বাস্থ্যসেবায় এক অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী। মঙ্গলবার (২৮ জানুয়ারি) সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকেল ৫টা পর্যন্ত সিরাজগঞ্জ জেলার কাজীপুর উপজেলার চর ভানুডাঙ্গা ইছামতি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গণে দিনব্যাপী বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা সেবা ও ওষুধ বিতরণ কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হয়।
বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর বগুড়াস্থ ১১ পদাতিক ডিভিশনের অধীন ৪০ ফিল্ড রেজিমেন্ট আর্টিলারির উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এ মেডিকেল ক্যাম্পে মোট ১,৮২৯ জন রোগীকে সম্পূর্ণ বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা ও প্রয়োজনীয় ওষুধ প্রদান করা হয়।
চিকিৎসাসেবা গ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে
পুরুষ রোগী: ৬৫৪ জন
নারী রোগী: ৯৪৫ জন
শিশু রোগী: ২৩০ জন
চরাঞ্চলের দরিদ্র ও সুবিধাবঞ্চিত মানুষের জন্য এই মানবিক উদ্যোগ ছিল অত্যন্ত সময়োপযোগী ও স্বস্তিদায়ক। দীর্ঘদিন ধরে প্রয়োজনীয় স্বাস্থ্যসেবা থেকে বঞ্চিত এসব মানুষ সেনাবাহিনীর এই মহৎ উদ্যোগে সন্তোষ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন।
স্থানীয়রা জানান, দুর্গম চর এলাকায় এমন সুসংগঠিত ও মানসম্মত চিকিৎসা ক্যাম্প সচরাচর দেখা যায় না। বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী শুধু দেশের নিরাপত্তা রক্ষায় নয়, মানবিক ও সামাজিক দায়িত্ব পালনের মাধ্যমেও জনগণের আস্থার প্রতীক হিসেবে কাজ করছে এই মেডিকেল ক্যাম্প তারই উজ্জ্বল প্রমাণ।
এ ধরনের জনকল্যাণমূলক কার্যক্রম প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলের মানুষের জীবনমান উন্নয়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে মনে করছেন সংশ্লিষ্টরা।
