বিএনপি চেয়ারপার্সন ও সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার ৮০তম জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে সিরাজগঞ্জে এতিম শিশু-কিশোরদের সঙ্গে মধ্যাহ্নভোজের আয়োজন করলেন জেলা বিএনপির সহ-দফতর সম্পাদক, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী ওলামা দলের কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সদস্য এবং সিরাজগঞ্জ প্রেসক্লাবের দফতর সম্পাদক সাংবাদিক শেখ মো. এনামুল হক।
গত ১৭ বছর ধরে তিনি ব্যক্তিগত উদ্যোগে এই আয়োজন গোপনে করে এলেও, এ বছর প্রথমবার তা প্রকাশ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।শুক্রবার (১৫ আগস্ট) জুমার নামাজের পর সদর উপজেলার খোকশাবাড়ী ইউনিয়নের দিয়ারপাঁচিল আল্লামা ইদ্রিস (রহ.) দারুল উলুম হাফিজিয়া মাদ্রাসা প্রাঙ্গণে আয়োজিত মধ্যাহ্নভোজে অংশ নেন ১০০ জন এতিম শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষক। এর আগে বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার সুস্থতা, দীর্ঘায়ু ও আশু রোগমুক্তি কামনায় বিশেষ দোয়া ও মোনাজাত অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। মোনাজাত পরিচালনা করেন মাদ্রাসার প্রিন্সিপাল হযরত মাওলানা মো. আব্দুল করিম।
মোনাজাতে তিনি বলেন, “সাংবাদিক এনামুল হক দীর্ঘদিন ধরে গোপনে খালেদা জিয়া ও আরাফাত রহমান কোকোর স্মরণে এতিমদের মুখে হাসি ফুটিয়েছেন। আমরা দোয়া করি—আল্লাহ কোকোকে জান্নাতবাসী করুন এবং এনামুল হককে উত্তম প্রতিদান দান করুন।”
অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান আয়োজক হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে নিজ হাতে খাবার পরিবেশন করেন শেখ মো. এনামুল হক। এ সময় খোকশাবাড়ী ইউনিয়ন বিএনপি ও অঙ্গসংগঠনের নেতাকর্মী, মাদ্রাসার শিক্ষকবৃন্দ এবং স্থানীয় গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
উপস্থিতদের মধ্যে ছিলেন খোকশাবাড়ী ইউনিয়ন বিএনপির সাবেক সদস্য সচিব সুলতান মাহমুদ, সাবেক সিনিয়র যুগ্ম সম্পাদক আব্দুল মান্নান মেম্বার, সাবেক ইউপি সদস্য শাহাদত হোসেন, ৩ নং ওয়ার্ড বিএনপির সাবেক সভাপতি নাজমুল হুদা তালুকদার, ১ নং ওয়ার্ড বিএনপির সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুর রাজ্জাক মিন্টু, সাবেক সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক রফিকুল ইসলাম, ইব্রাহিম আকন্দ, সদর থানা মৎস্যজীবী দলের যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক গোলাম কিবরিয়া সুইট, যুবদল নেতা সানজিত হাসান সাদিত, বিএনপি নেতা সাদ্দাম হোসেন ও জাহিদুল ইসলাম।

রাজনৈতিক জীবনে এনামুল হক দীর্ঘ সংগ্রাম ও ত্যাগের মধ্য দিয়ে উঠে এসেছেন। ছাত্রদল থেকে রাজনীতিতে যাত্রা শুরু করে তিনি এখন বিএনপির পরীক্ষিত ও ত্যাগী নেতা হিসেবে পরিচিত। ৮টি রাজনৈতিক মামলায় আসামি এবং ৯ বার কারাবরণের অভিজ্ঞতা থাকা সত্ত্বেও তিনি সংগঠনের প্রতি অনুগত থেকেছেন। রাজনীতির পাশাপাশি সামাজিক ও মানবিক কর্মকাণ্ডে তাঁর অংশগ্রহণ স্থানীয়দের প্রশংসা কুড়িয়েছে।অনুষ্ঠান শেষে এতিম শিক্ষার্থী ও অতিথিদের মাঝে উন্নতমানের খাবার বিতরণ করা হয়। অন্যদিকে খালেদা জিয়ার জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে ইউনিয়নের বিভিন্ন মসজিদে দোয়া মাহফিলের আয়োজন করে ইউনিয়ন ও ওয়ার্ড বিএনপি।
