সিরাজগঞ্জের সলঙ্গায় নাহিদ সুলতানা লাবনী (২৫) হত্যার রহস্য ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই উদ্ঘাটন করেছে পুলিশ। প্রেমঘটিত বিরোধ থেকেই এ হত্যাকাণ্ড সংঘটিত হয়েছে বলে নিশ্চিত করেছে সলঙ্গা থানা পুলিশ। এ ঘটনায় মূল অভিযুক্ত লাবনীর প্রেমিক মিলন হোসাইনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী।
নিহত লাবনী ধুবিল কাটার মহলের আব্দুল কাইয়ুম রিগানের স্ত্রী। ঘটনার পর লাবনীর বাবা গোলাম মোস্তফা গত ৩০ নভেম্বর সলঙ্গা থানায় হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করেন।
পরিবার ও পুলিশ সূত্র জানায়, জগজীবনপুর গ্রামের গোলাম মোস্তফার মেয়ে লাবনীর সঙ্গে রিগানের ২০১৭ সালে পারিবারিকভাবে বিয়ে হয়। তাদের দুটি সন্তান রয়েছে। তবে বিয়ের আগ থেকেই লাবনীর সঙ্গে বড় গোজা গ্রামের মিলন হোসাইনের প্রেমের সম্পর্ক চলমান ছিল-যা বিয়ের পরও গোপনে বজায় থাকে।
গত ২৯ নভেম্বর বিকেলে স্বামী বাড়িতে না থাকায় লাবনী মিলনকে ফোন করে বাসায় ডাকেন। সে সময় লাবনী তার মেয়ে ও ভাগ্নীকে বাজারে পাঠিয়ে দেন। বাড়িতে নির্জন সুযোগে তাদের মধ্যে প্রথমবার শারীরিক সম্পর্ক ঘটে। পরে বাড়ি থেকে ফোন আসায় মিলন ফিরতে চাইলে লাবনী বাধা দেন। এ নিয়ে সন্ধ্যা থেকে রাত পর্যন্ত তীব্র ঝগড়া বাঁধে। দ্বিতীয়বার শারীরিক সম্পর্কে মিলন রাজি না হওয়ায় উত্তেজনা আরও বেড়ে যায়। একপর্যায়ে হাতাহাতির সময় মিলন লাবনীর গলা চেপে ধরলে ঘটনাস্থলেই তার মৃত্যু হয়।
হত্যার পর মিলন লাবনীর ভাগ্নীকে ঘুম থেকে তুলে জানান লাবনী নাকি অজ্ঞান হয়ে গেছে। এরপর দ্রুত সটকে পড়ে। রাত সাড়ে ৩টার দিকে ভাগ্নী বিষয়টি লাবনীর বাবাকে জানালে পুলিশে খবর দেওয়া হয়। পরে থানা পুলিশ গিয়ে লাশ উদ্ধার করে তদন্ত শুরু করে।
প্রযুক্তির সাহায্যে ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই মিলনকে আটক করে পুলিশ। প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে সে হত্যার বিষয়টি স্বীকার করে। এসময় তার কাছ থেকে লাবনীর ৪ ভরি স্বর্ণালংকার উদ্ধার করা হয়।
সলঙ্গা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মাহমায়ূন কবির বলেন, প্রথমে এটি আত্মহত্যার ঘটনা বলে ধারণা করা হলেও আমরা বিষয়টি গুরুত্বসহকারে তদন্ত শুরু করি। অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই ঘটনার সত্যতা উদ্ঘাটনসহ মূল আসামি মিলনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। আদালতে সে হত্যার দায় স্বীকার করেছে।
