রাজশাহীর তানোরে গভীর নলকূপের জন্য খননকৃত ৪০ ফুট গভীর গর্তে পড়ে নিখোঁজ হওয়া শিশু সাজিদকে টানা ৩২ ঘণ্টার রুদ্ধশ্বাস উদ্ধার অভিযানের পর জীবিত অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করেছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস।
বৃহস্পতিবার (১১ ডিসেম্বর) রাত ৯টা ২ মিনিটে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সদস্যরা গর্তের গভীর থেকে শিশুটিকে উদ্ধার করেন। ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত ফায়ার সার্ভিসের এক কর্মকর্তা জানান, উদ্ধার পাওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে শিশুটিকে অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে করে চিকিৎসার জন্য পাঠানো হয়েছে। শিশুটির শারীরিক অবস্থা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত পরে জানানো হবে বলে তিনি উল্লেখ করেন।
উদ্ধারকর্মীরা জানান, রাত পৌনে ৯টায় বিশেষ সরঞ্জামসহ বালতি নিয়ে উদ্ধারকারী দল গর্তের ভেতরে নামে। কয়েক ঘণ্টার টানা খনন, মাটি সরানো এবং নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতের জটিল প্রক্রিয়ার পর অবশেষে শিশুটিকে জীবিত অবস্থায় উঠিয়ে আনতে সক্ষম হন তারা।
প্রসঙ্গত, বুধবার দুপুরে গভীর নলকূপের গর্তে পড়ে যায় শিশু সাজিদ। খবর পেয়ে তানোর ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ইউনিট দ্রুত ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে উদ্ধার অভিযান শুরু করে। পরে রাজশাহীসহ বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের আরও ৮টি ইউনিট অভিযান পরিচালনায় যোগ দেয়।
