সিরাজগঞ্জের তাড়াশে পাওনা টাকার দাবিতে জুম্মা নামাজ শেষে মসজিদ থেকে তুলে নিয়ে গিয়ে এক বৃদ্ধ মুসল্লীকে মারধর করা হয়েছে। ঘটনার পর ওই মুসল্লীকে গৃহবন্দী করে রাখা হয়। পরে খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল থেকে ভিকটিম কে আটক অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করেছেন। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে শুক্রবার (৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) দুপুর দুইটার দিকে উপজেলার নওগাঁ ইউনিয়রের কালিদাসনিলী গ্রামে।
পুলিশ ও ভিটটিমের পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়, কালিদাসনিলী গ্রামের বাসিন্দা মো: মোজাম আলী (৭০) জুম্মার নামাজ পড়তে বাড়ির পাশে মসজিদে যান। নামাজ শেষে তিনি মসজিদ থেকে বের হলে, একই গ্রামের বাসিন্দা আলাল (৩৫), আব্দুল মোন্নাফ (৩৬), শামসুল হক (৪০) ও শিহাব উদ্দিন সংঘবদ্ধ হয়ে এসে বলে, তোমার প্রবাসী ছেলের কাছে আমরা সুদে লাগানো ৫০ হাজার টাকা পাই। তখন বৃদ্ধ মোজাম আলী বলেন, এ বিষয়ে তিনি তো কিছুই জানেন না। তখন কথা কাটাকাটির এক পর্যায়ে তারা মোজাম আলীর চলাচলের লাঠি কেড়ে নিয়ে পিটাতে থাকে ও চড়থাপ্পর মেরে টেনেহিচঁড়ে আলালের বাড়িতে নিয়ে গিয়ে আটক করে রাখে। পরে মোজাম আলীর পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে তাড়াশ থানায় খবর দিলে উপপরিদর্শক (এসআই) মো: আবুল হোসেন সঙ্গীয় ফোর্স নিয়ে গিয়ে তাকে উদ্ধার করে থানায় নিয়ে আসেন। এ সংবাদ লেখা পর্যন্ত মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে।
তাড়াশ থানায় কথা হয় মোজাম আলীর সাথে। তার গালে ও হাতে আঘাতের দাগ। তিনি কান্নাজড়িত কণ্ঠে বলেন, এ নির্যাতনের বিচার চাই। আমার এক ছেলে প্রবাসে থাকে। সে টাকা নিয়েছে কি না, তা তার জানা নেই।
তাড়াশ থানার অফিসার ইন চার্জ (ওসি) মো: জিয়াউর রহমান বলেন, ভিকটিম কে উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে। তদন্ত করে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
