সিরাজগঞ্জের উল্লাপাড়ায় স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাস নির্মাণের দাবিতে রেল যোগাযোগ বন্ধ করে বিক্ষোভে নেমেছেন রবীন্দ্র বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (রবি) শিক্ষার্থীরা। বুধবার (১৩ আগস্ট) সকাল ৯টায় উল্লাপাড়া রেলওয়ে স্টেশনের প্রধান গেটে অবস্থান নিয়ে তারা এই কর্মসূচি শুরু করেন।
শিক্ষার্থীরা জানান, প্রতিষ্ঠার নয় বছর পার হলেও সিরাজগঞ্জের শাহজাদপুরে স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাসের উন্নয়ন প্রকল্প প্রস্তাবনা (ডিপিপি) এখনো অনুমোদন পায়নি। দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই এ দাবি জানিয়ে এলেও সাড়া না পাওয়ায় তারা চূড়ান্তভাবে আন্দোলনের পথে নেমেছেন।
শুধু রেল অবরোধই নয়, এর আগে চলমান আন্দোলনের অংশ হিসেবে তারা বগুড়া–নগরবাড়ী মহাসড়কে অবরোধ, পথনাটক, ‘শেকল ভাঙার’ গান, প্রতীকী ক্লাস, মানববন্ধন এবং নবীনবরণসহ নানা কর্মসূচি পালন করেছেন। গত সপ্তাহে হাটিকুমরুল গোলচত্বরে মানববন্ধন ও মহাসড়ক অবরোধের ফলে দুই ঘণ্টা ঢাকার সঙ্গে উত্তরবঙ্গের সড়ক যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়ে।
রেলওয়ে সূত্রে জানা গেছে, অবরোধের কারণে রাজশাহী থেকে ঢাকাগামী সিল্কসিটি এক্সপ্রেস, চিলাহাটি এক্সপ্রেস ও কুড়িগ্রাম এক্সপ্রেসের শিডিউলে বিপর্যয় ঘটতে পারে। রেলের নিরাপত্তায় উল্লাপাড়া থানা পুলিশ ও রেলওয়ে পুলিশ মোতায়েন রয়েছে। বিষয়টি ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানানো হয়েছে।
শিক্ষার্থীরা হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়ে বলেছেন, দ্রুত ডিপিপি অনুমোদন ও পূর্ণ বাস্তবায়ন না হলে আন্দোলন আরও কঠোর হবে।
