চট্টগ্রামের সাতকানিয়ায় ক্ষতিকর রং মিশিয়ে তৈরি করা আম ও লিচুর জুস তৈরি করা একটি কারখানা বন্ধ করে (সিলগালা) দিয়েছে উপজেলা প্রশাসন। রবিবার (৫ মে) ওই কারখানাটি বন্ধ করা হয়।সাতকানিয়া উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) মিল্টন বিশ্বাস বলেন, গত রবিবার গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে পৌরসভার ছমদর পাডা এলাকায় অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। সেখানে দেখা যায়, পাকা টিনশেড একটি রুমে রং মিশিয়ে আম ও লিচুর জুস তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। ভেজাল জুস বিভিন্ন নামি-দামি কোম্পানির স্টিকার লাগিয়ে বাজারজাত করা হচ্ছে। তাছাড়া ওই প্রতিষ্ঠান স্থাপনের কোনো অনুমোদন ছিল না। তাই এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের মালিক আব্দুল জব্বারকে ১ লাখ টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়েছে। কারখানায় থাকা সব ভেজাল পণ্য বিনষ্ট করা হয়েছে বলেও জানান তিনি।
এদিকে, জনবহুল এলাকায় এই ধরনের ভেজাল জুস তৈরির কারখানা স্থাপনের ঘটনায় হতবাক স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা। নামি-দামি ব্রান্ডের স্টিকার লাগিযে সেগুলো বাজারজাত করে অন্যায় করেছেন বলে স্বীকার করেন কারখানার মালিক আব্দুল জব্বার।
