র্যাব-১২ ও র্যাব-১ এর যৌথ অভিযানে সিরাজগঞ্জের বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু পশ্চিম থানা এলাকা হতে ৫৭ কেজি গাঁজাসহ ৩জন মাদক ব্যবসায়ীকে গ্রেফতার ও ১টি পিকআপ জব্দ করা হয়েছে।
২৮ জুন (শুক্রবার) বিকেল থেকে সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত র্যাবের অস্থায়ী চেকপোষ্ট স্থাপন করে পিক আপ যোগে গাঁজা বহন করছে এমন তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ঢাকা,রংপুর মহাসড়কে বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু পশ্চিম থানার সয়দাবাদ এলাকায় পিকআপ হতে ৫৭ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়। এসময় ঘটনাস্থল থেকে কুমিল্লা জেলার দেবীদ্বার থানার পুয়াবাড়ী গ্রামের আলী আশরাফের ছেলে আল আমিন (২৫), হোসেনপুর গ্রামের লোকমান হোসেনের ছেলে সাব্বির হোসেন (১৯) ও মোরশেদের ছেলে আনিছ আহম্মেদকে (২৩) আটক করা হয়েছে।
শুকবার সন্ধ্যায় এক প্রেস বিফ্রিং এর মাধ্যমে নিশ্চিত করেছেন র্যাব-১২’র কোম্পানি কমান্ডার মোহাম্মদ ইলিয়াস খান।
এছাড়াও গাঁজা ক্রয়-বিক্রয়ের কাজে ব্যবহৃত ৪টি মোবাইল’ নগদ ৬ হাজার ৬শত ৭০টাকা এবং ১টি বলেরো পিকআপ জব্দ করা হয়। গ্রেফতারকৃত আসামীদের বিরুদ্ধে সিরাজগঞ্জের বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু পশ্চিম থানায় একটি মামলা রুজু করা হয়েছে।
